TORNADO! (updated)

I call this photo--"Twister"

Our house was hit at 4:15 this morning--we have some serious damage both structurally to our home and to our family emotionally. Don't worry--all of my files are safe--I just will not be able to edit anything today and probably tomorrow. I apologize for this delay.
Steve and I were sleeping when we woke up to that horrible sound...if you have ever been in a tornado, you know what I mean (sounds like a freight train coming at you)!  We ran up the stairs to get the kids and as we were walking out the GIANT two story windows in our family room (that branches off to the entire house) burst inward sending nail embedded fence posts and millions of shards of glass in at us at 85 miles an hour.  I don't know how, but we were about 2 feet away from the line of fire (thank you guardian angels above).

Barefoot, we ran through the glass, clutching our children and made it to the bathroom.  Our feet are so messed up!  After the storm stopped, we emerged to find our HOUSE blanketed in a pulverized glass and debris--it has stuck into the cabinets, the fridge, the couches, the rugs...EVERYWHERE!  It absolutely looks like a war zone.  This video shows some of our neighborhood all of the first photos until you see the modern building are in our neighborhood (yes, the airport is in our neighborhood too): Click Here
After seeing some of the extensive damage, we realize that we are lucky--some houses have no roof left at all!  The emotion of being so very close to extreme harm (spears of debris and glass) has shaken us to the core--not to mention that my daughter's high chair sits right in front of these windows and is usually occupied at about 5am (45 minutes later).

I hope you all are okay as well--I'll post more of my own pics later.  On a more humorous note, did you know that tornados suck the water out of your toilets?  It sucked it right out of all of ours!

Please give your kiddos an extra squeeze for me today--there's nothing like a good scare to make you realize how precious life is!
